Lovers and Losers, Pt. 7 of 7.          Scott reached the area of their original position a little over a half hour later a little off track and was somewhat winded.  He came down the last slope in a clumsy manner and emerged from the trees where the other two vehicles were, ahead of his pickup.  They were parked about forty meters in front of one of the abandoned mines, and he expected to be taken by surprise upon recognizing the misjudged locale.  However, the circumstance was completely opposite.

         Richard stood up fast after hearing him stumble over some loose rocks and approach closer.  He turned, brought his hands up from below his waist, and said, "Jesus,
Lovers and Losers, Pt. 6 of 7.          While Scott went his own way, Wendy intended to make sure her return route would be out of his view completely.  She remained frustrated because the potentially threatening situation made her compelled to obey him, like some dog on an invisible leash; jealousy was one of her few stronger weaknesses.  She was in the denser woods no more than ten minutes when the sound of small twigs breaking was heard in the distance.  "Okay, you sneaky little pest.  I'll tell you just who belongs to whom well enough," she commented to herself before moving faster.

         Wendy moved further up-slope over rockier terrain and more ground obstacles
Lovers and Losers, Pt. 5 of 7.          Scott surveyed the area around him and saw that the path only went straight a shorter distance than he just walked before curving away again.  He postulated that it thus had an irregular sigmoid shape, like that from a snake or serpent, but he could not even guess as to what kind.  The size of it seemed absurd and certainly beyond belief.  Even moderate-sized saplings had been crushed down flat and stripped of their thin bark and often their very foundation.  "What kind of force could have done this?" he thought while still amazed.  "Looks like a bulldozer drove through here in hell of a hurry."

Lovers and Losers, Pt. 4 of 7.          Scott and Wendy walked nearly one hundred meters down the special slope before encountering more of the deciduous and largely evergreen forest.  The broad-leafed trees grew in small thick clusters about the taller dominant stand, and after both of them were into it for a few minutes, he started to doubt her certainty of his more desired goal again.  When they did find it though, it was very obvious and left them moderately surprised, even agog at first.

Lovers and Losers, Pt. 3 of 7.          Wendy let out a short jovial scream upon seeing Scott lunge toward her, and he chased her down through the gloomier shade and mist in the trees to eventually catch her in the subsequent open area of tall dewy grass.  She tried to twist free after he grasped a dangling forearm and nearly lost balance while being spun around on the slippery sloping surface.  However, he did not let her fall to the uneven ground without knowing how fragile she really was or where any rocks were concealed.

         "Who's playing hard to get now, Sweetness?' he jeered.

         "Okay, already," she responded, and faced him with a more serious concen

Miss Ranes, the Queen City aquarium curator, was told there was a problem at the salt water tank just after closing hours. However, when brought up to it, little did she know this was all a deception; she is magically enclosed in a water bubble by cooperating aquatic witches. Perhaps, her transformation is next?
