Description

In the incredible night of Sept. 24-25, 1998, as solar cycle #23 approached its maximum, a bright surging aurora loops in the northwestern sky, illuminating the whole sky and countryside, and putting the foreground subjects in silhouette. If your first or last name begins with an "S" also, there should be no reason you should not like this picture! Ironically, NO auroras seen from my location in the last month of 2008 and first 4 months of 2009. So, do you know the privilege it is to witness these things in action, which trigger weather changes in my area afterward for the short and long-term? Everything starts with the behavior of our Sun.
