Description

How beautiful it is (and rare where I live) when heavy snow falls straight down to accumulate on every branch and twig of trees.  It is like a blanket of winter suspended both above and on the ground.  This picture was taken March 7, 1988, and all of the trees shown have died and been cut down.  You think the climate changed since then?

That neighborhood looks familiar. I used to live near a part of Rockville, MD called Twinbrook. Is it by any chance? Snow is very pretty when it first falls, but I am glad not to have to deal with it anymore where I am at now (Brazil).
Yes, the climate has changed much. I grew up in Wheaton, MD and every Winter you knew we were going to use our sleds down our favorite hills and steep roads. Over time the Winters became milder, sometimes almost like Spring in February! Warm Christmas days. People got so used to these mild Winters that when a REAL Winter came (I mean 2 or 3 inches) people freaked out like it was a disaster!:)
