Mermaids Are Scary
"Shhh," the mermaid whispered, her voice sweet and calming, tenderly stroking her thumb along the man's cheek, "It'll be alright. I've got you now."
The man's eyes bulged, his skin white and his hands desperately clawing at the mer who held him in her webbed embrace. She giggled, her long hair flowing around her head like a halo, bubbles cascading out of her mouth with every peal of musical laughter. "Silly human," she cooed at his futile struggle to escape her hold, "You can't swim away from me. I do have fins, you know."
